Classes are filtered by location.  Click on the location and then the class you are interested in from the list.    Once you select the date, you will be able to complete your registration.  If you have any questions or you prefer to schedule your class with us over the phone,  please give us a call at 631-724-3537.  You must mention any discount you are eligible for during the registration process.

The second required course is the 16 Hour On-The-Job Security Guard Training Course (OJT).  This class should be taken within the first 90 days of Part time or full time employment. This training program is relevant to the duties of the security guard, requirements of the work site, and the needs of the employer.  We include CPR/AED and First Aid training during this course.

This is a 3 day course. 

You must register for a Day 1 and a Day 2 (2 evenings).  This is a Day 1 Class.  You must also choose and register for a Day 2 Class.

We offer a $20 discount for Veterans and members of the Militaryuse code Military20.

This is a combination course only for Retired Law Enforcement personnel with a NYS Armed Security Guard license. Upon completion of this course you will have fulfilled the annual requirment for Armed Security Guards and will be able to travel in all fifty states with the type of handgun they qualified with.

When you qualify with a Semi-Auto or a Revolver your card will say "Law Enforcement Type of Handgun".  You will be able to carry a REVOLVER OR SEMI-AUTOMATIC concealed, under HR-218, no matter what type of weapon you qualified with. 

The Federal Law permits this, and we are going to follow the lead of other law enforcement agencies who have changed their policies.  Remember, N.Y.S. ARMED SECURITY requires you to qualify with the weapon or weapons that you wish to carry while on duty as a guard.

This is an 8 hour course that must be completed annually. To attend the course students must possess a valid pistol license pursuant to NY Penal Law Section 400.00 and a valid NYS Armed Security Guard Registration Card.

8 Hour Annual In-Service Training Course 

The third required training course is the 8-Hour Annual in-Service Course. This training course must be completed each calendar year. This program is designed to meet current training needs and refresh or update guards in changes in the field. The security guard must complete this course as a prerequisite for renewal of their security guard license.

Certificate is given the day of the class.

8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course 

The first course required to get your New York State Security Guard License is the 8-hour Pre-assignment Training Course. This is a general introductory course. You are issued a certificate upon successful completion. This certificate must accompany your security guard license application when submitted to the Department of State. 

Certificate is given the day of the class.

ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

Course uses learning stations for practice of essential skills simulated clinical scenarios that encourage Active participation.  Hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency.  Classroom-based works well for learners who prefer group interaction and instructor feedback while learning skills.

ACLS Course Content

  • Key changes in advanced cardiovascular life support, reflecting the 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED)
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
  • Airway management
  • Related pharmacology
  • Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team
  • Effective Resuscitation Team Dynamics

A current BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification is a required pre-requisite for the ACLS course.  If you do not have a current BLS certification card, you can obtain it in one of two ways.   You can take the complete BLS course in a classroom setting by choosing from one of the available dates from either the Original or the Renewal class list.  Or, you can do Part 1 on-line and Parts 2 & 3 at the beginning of the ACLS course.  Just add the AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Online Course as an option when registering. Complete Part 1 online via the Internet, print the completion certificate and bring it with you on the day of the course. Complete Part 2 & 3 "skills check" the day of this course. BLS Online & Skills Course Cost $90.

This is a renewal class.  Participants must have taken the ACLS course and have a current or recently expired ACLS certification card in order to take this class.  

MANDATORY: Please complete the AHA's pre-course work prior to taking the ACLS course.  Below is the link and password, please bring in the results from it to show the Instructor.  It should take about 30 minutes and the results do not matter....so don't worry about failing.

 

After completing the work, you can either email the certificate to the office to Lisa@advancedtrainingcenterli.com or bring in the certificate to the class. Again, this is MANDATORY and without the certificate your card will be held.

If you need to renew your BLS certification as well, you can do so in one of two ways.  You can take the BLS renewal course in our classroom setting by choosing from one of the available dates from either the Original or the Renewal class list. Or, you can do Part 1 on-line and Parts 2 & 3 during the ACLS course.  Just add the AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Online Course as an option when registering. Complete Part 1 online via the Internet, print the completion certificate and bring it with you on the day of the course. Complete Part 2 & 3 "skills check" the day of this course. BLS Online & Skills Course Cost $90.

American Heart Association Skills Station for e-Learning ACLS

Audience:
Participants who have completed part one of the AHA-ACLS online e-learning program.  Students must provide a print out of the completion certificate. AHA provider card will be issued upon completion.

If needed, you may also complete the BLS skills check at the same time.  Please add the Online BLS with skills check at time of registration.  We will send you the keycode to complete the online portion.  

The Heartsaver First Aid course teaches participants critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until help arrives.

First aid topics include the following:

  • scene safety, finding the problem, calling for help and more
  • medical emergencies (including actions for choking, breathing problems, shock and more)
  • injury emergencies (including actions for bleeding, broken bones, burns and more)
  • environmental emergencies (including actions for bites and stings, and temperature-related and poison emergencies).  

Approximately 3 hours.

ATTENTION COACHES:  This course may not be acceptable for Public High School Coaches.  Please check with your Athletic Director prior to registration.  Deposits/payments are not refundable.

Friends & Family – This class is designed for people who want to learn Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED and airway obstruction removal.

 You will be participating in a Heartsaver Adult, Child, and Infant certification class but will not receive the student manual or certification card.  The price for this option is $90pp.  

Since this is part of a Certification Class that also covers the use of the Automated External Defibrillator, you may choose to participate in or not, the choice is yours.

You may also choose to schedule a private in-home class with your friends and family. Up to 8 people is $520, $40 each additional person.  Please call the office to discuss.

THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR NURSING STUDENTS, NURSES, OR LIFEGUARDS.  Nurses and Lifeguards are required to take the BLS class, either original or renewal.

If you also need First Aid, you may purchase the add on online with skills session to your registration and complete the skills portion immediately following the CPR/AED class.

New York State Concealed Carry Firearms Safety Training Course

Following the guidelines set forth by the Division of Criminal Justice Services and the New York State Police, we will be conducting the 16 Hour educational course which consists of: Classroom Training Curriculum, A Written Proficiency test plus 2 hours of Live-Fire Training.

Requirements for class enrollment. --  Must possess a current pistol permit, and drivers license or non-photo ID.  Must bring your own unloaded firearms, ammunition for practice and testing, side hip holster and appropriate ear and eye protection. 

There are no refunds for this class. 

 Topics covered in this course are:

  • Systems of care
  • How the use of a rapid response team (RRT) or medical emergency team (MET) may improve patient outcomes
  • The impact of team dynamics on overall team performance
  • Effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team
  • Prompt, high-quality BLS, including prioritizing early chest compressions and integrating early AED use
  • The BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessment sequences for a systematic evaluation of adult patients
  • Early recognition and management of acute coronary syndromes, including appropriate disposition
  • Early recognition and management of stroke, including appropriate disposition
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory arrest
  • Recognition and early management of bradycardia that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Recognition and early management of tachycardia that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome

On Line Part 1 -- Students will learn single-rescuer and team basic life support for adults, children and infants through 5 interactive exercises, scenarios and a written test. Navigation controls allow students to move easily through content as they learn how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilation and provide early use of an AED. Course also teaches relief of choking.

This self-paced course is accessible anytime from any computer. Students can access the BLS for Healthcare Providers Student Manual, BLS Pocket Reference Card and more for 24 months.
