This class is for those who wish to teach either BLS, Heartsaver or First Aid classes.
The following are the steps to become an AHA Instructor:
- Have a current Certification Card in the discipline you wish to teach, either BLS For Healthcare Providers or Heartsaver CPR/AED
- Must register on the AHA Instructor Network and align with our Training Center
- Complete the classroom discipline specific Instructor Course (See schedule for dates)
- Have the most recent edition of the AHA Provider Manual for the discipline they wish to teach (included in price and will be given at class)
- Have completed an Instructor Candidate Application provided during the classroom sesssion
- Be successfully monitored teaching two courses by our Training Center Faculty at our location. Once you are sucessfully monitored, you will receive your Instructor Card.
We require our instructors to teach a minimum of 6 classes of your own per year in order to stayed aligned with our Training Center.
Our Price: Includes the Instructor manual and online pre-course. If you do not have access to the course specific DVDs used to instruct the courses you will need to purchase them.
A current BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification is a required pre-requisite the BLS Instructor course. If you do not have a current BLS certification card, you can obtain it in one of two ways. You can do Part 1 on-line and Parts 2 & 3 at the Instructor course. Just add the AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Online Course as an option when registering. Complete Part 1 online via the Internet, print the completion certificate and bring it with you on the day of the course. Complete Part 2 & 3 "skills check" the day of this course. BLS Online & Skills Course Cost $95. Or, you can take the complete BLS course in a classroom setting by choosing from one of the available dates from either the Original or the Renewal class list.
If you wish to only be a Heartsaver and First Aid Instructor, a current Heartsaver CPR/AED/FIRST AID Certification is a required pre-requisite the Heartsaver Instructor course. If you do not have a current Heartsaver certification card, you can obtain it in one of two ways. You can do Part 1 on-line and Parts 2 & 3 at the Instructor course. Just add the AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED and Basic First Aid Online Part 1 with Skills Check as an option when registering. Complete Part 1 online via the Internet, print the completion certificate and bring it with you on the day of the course. Complete Part 2 & 3 "skills check" the day of this course. Heartsaver CPR/AED and Basic First Aid Online Part 1 with Skills Check Course Cost $110. Or, you can take the complete Heartsaver CPR/AED/FIRST AID course in a classroom setting by choosing from one of the available dates on our class list.
